Using our Die Cutting Services in your print project is the best way to create boxes, packaging, folders, and more! The list really is endless. When someone needs their print project die cut the first thing we do is create a “die”. This die consists of wood and steel rules which can cut, perf, score or fold. These rules can be made in any shape and size. We then take this “die” and, using pressure, press the substrate against the rules to give you your desired final piece. This can include paper, carton board, laminated board, plastics, corrugated board and much more.
WHAT IS DIE CUTTING?
Die Cutting is a process that allows us to cut, score, fold or perf a substrate in any shape/design imaginable. This is how pocket folders, odd shaped greeting cards, door hangers and many other products are produced!
DIE CUTTING PROCESS
Our Die Cutting Services are actually pretty straight forward. It can be broken down into 3 key elements. Pressure, Cutting Die, Final Piece.
1. PRESSURE
The paper (or other substrate) is brought towards the cutting die with great force.
2. CUTTING DIE
The substrate is then pressed against the die thereby cutting, perfing, scoring or folding the substrate.
3. PRINT
Once the pressure is released the paper/substrate will have been successfully transformed thereby giving you your final diecut piece.
SIZE
Die cutting service is great for any sized piece. The largest size we run via our Die cutting machines is 20″ x 26″. Although, that would be one HUGE die!
QUANTITY
Die Cutting Service can be used for any volume project! There is no minimum or maximum order quantity. However many you need!
QUALITY
Die Cutting is the top notch of printing. Die Cutting your project is one of the best ways to give your piece a high quality look.
PROOFING
There is no real proofing process for Die Cutting. We will send you a digital representation, but if you need to see a print before we proceed a press check is always an option.
PRICE
Die Cutting pricing is dependent on the size of the artwork being diecut, complexity and quantity of prints. With this being the case Die Cutting pricing can vary from affordable to very expensive.
TURNAROUND
Our Die Cutting Services turnaround is job dependent. Generally, turnaround time for die cutting services would not be considered quick.
